HAGSA is a grassroots network of local individuals standing up for the interests of our local communities in Sighthill/Gorgie, specifically regarding housing and greenspace issues.

Pushing for a fair, green deal for Sighthill/Gorgie, we aim to safeguard and improve our public housing and green spaces for future generations. We want to enjoy and celebrate the very essence of our local communities.

Our Aims

  1. Protect public spaces from commercialisation

  2. Create better-quality active travel infrastructure

  3. Implement practical, workable rent controls

  4. Campaign against unsuitable planning proposals

  5. Encourage ethical & responsible development proposals

  6. Campaign for more affordable housing, improve the lives of our most needy

  7. Protect and improve precious local greenspaces

  8. Identify and create new green spaces and pocket parks

  9. Bring empty shop fronts into use for the good of the community in the heart of Gorgie-Dalry town centre

  10. Create new community libraries
